Default Overheating?...

I was on I-5 going south today.. stuck in rush hour.. saw the temp hit 225 F.. I've noticed it normally runs around 175.. just wondering if it hits 225F is it time to pull it over and cool it down?.. just curious so i don't have a melt down .

Did the electric fan kick on and cool it down? Mine typically kicks on when it gets to 215 and doesn't typically go over 220. If it didn't activate make sure the temp switch didn't come unplugged by the radiator on the left side of the bike.

225 in bad traffic on a warm day is not abnormal for a bike or a car. Unless it continues to climb even after you start moving, there is nothing to worry about.

Awsome, you've put my mind at ease... I've noticed it can be around 220ish.. i'll start moving at normal speed 70ish.. and it will cool itself to 175 on the dot within a minute or so.
