on my new 929, ive noticed a few differences that not all 2001 929's came out of the box the same, first off ive got a really sweet exhast, imean this whole pipe looks jet coated not black , and the can(wich says HONDA on it) is a beautiful brushed aluminum with a polished end, and the whole pipe , header and conections are polished, ive seen alaot with all black exhast. second , i got to lookin and under a coat of filthy chain lube sits a bad *** gold link DID chain, ive not seen a stock bike with the gold chain. i love the look of a gold chain, and i always replace chain and sprocs on every bike i get, but this one is sweet and with olny 3000 mi on the counter they will clean up nice. any one know if they offered a special package? not going to change anything just want to know. peace

 

lets get some pictures. and also what makes ya think that the chain is oem ? your bike is a 01.. 8 years old... the original owner couldve had work done to the factory exhaust system. the oem header on these bikes is a titanium and it slooks bad ***. the only black exhaust that i can think you are refering too is the "erion racing" pipe.

 

yeah, i know how old this bike is, but the owner did one thing to the bike, and that was replace the rear tire because of a nail, i know, iknow, he could of been lyin , but the guy was very strait forward with me about not knowing anything about bikes, and his dad did three oil changes over the years. the sproket on back is def oem, and with 3000 miles on the bike , i dont see why he would even need to replace chain. there was so much lube on chain , i olny saw the gold after allitle super clean on a rag revealed the drive jewelry. as for the exhast ....you made my day---titanium exhast? im even more thrilled.. i dont know everything bro, but i seriously believe this guy and his father. also they were cheapo kind of peeps, with the walmart battery -not yuasa, mismatched tires, and im scred to ask what oil he used , i dont think think this guy would spend money on a chain fo no reason. i ask he said no -out of the box from dealer. thanks havoc for the info , your right those were erion raccing models. peace bro
