no fuel pump prime . . . have a quick question

Alrighty guys Ive located the problem to wires on the bottom of the tank. If I take a little weight off of the tank the fuel pump turns on. As soon as the weights back on it turns off. THe only thing I can think of is maybe a wire is shorted or barely attached.
Im banged up from T-boning my R1 into a ladies car yesterday after she pulled out of a parking lot shooting me over her hood and down the road, but I really want to get this baby running.
Would you recommend splicing in new wires from the harness up to the tank? Thats what Im planning to do, but let me know if yall know a better way to get her going, thanks ! !

Well if it cuts off from the weight then there is definetly a short/rip in at least one of the wires. If it were me i would replace the wires instead of just moving them, The damage is already done.
