Default need some piece of mind

Okay guys, I had a 954 couple years back I bought for 700 bucks with bad transmission gears, 150 bucks on ebay and I had my first Honda and fireblade. Kept it awhile and sold it. And now, two weeks ago just browsing on craigslist, board I happened to see a 929 with a thrown rod for 1000. Okay so it needed an engine, I tell my buddy and what do you know he knows someone with a wrecked 929 but good engine. 800 bucks! Bought both 1800 in. Last weekend I swapped the engines and got a good looking and hopefully good running bike. Guy said good engine had about 25k miles on it. Started right up sounds good........I think. When you do a mid Rev to about 5k rpms you can hear a slight rattle in the lower end for the first 1/2 second and that's it. Now when I say slight I mean you have to be knealing beside the bike as you do it. When I ride it can't hear it. Okay so I guess that's question number one. Is that normal for this bike? Maybe bearings worn? Or hopefully just nothing to worry about?
Okay second question, I live on a pretty calm back road so when I took it down the road without a helment to see if I could hear the first sound I was talking about, I instead herd more of a ticking under medium to hard acceralation. Not extremely loud because I can't hear it at all with a helment on, thus really don't know if my 954 did it or not. She runs strong and good as far as power. Just these two sounds kinda got me on edge of if I'm gonna list it and make a profit, or keep riding and have fun because I guess I really didn't know how bad I missed it until I got this one. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

Hard to say what it is or if it's normal without hearing it.

With that said, both my 929s were a bit rattly. They didn't have rod knocks or anything like that, but there was some noises from time to time.

Could you be hearing pinging? Mine pings a bit on initial acceleration if I don't use higher octane fuel.

Aluminum casings = loud.

CCT would cause a bit of noise like you're describing...

Bearings aren't usually an issue on these bikes, I've had a couple of 954s with piston slap, but I'd think with 1mn thicker cylinder walls on the 929 would make that less likely...

Of course, if it went long intervals without maintenance and oil, all of the above goes out the window. But since you can't hear it while rising or with a helmet, I wouldn't be too worried.

What is CCT, the chain tensioner? And thanks for your reply guys. I'm really not sure about how the engine was maintenanced but I do plan on a fresh oil change this weekend.

Here's a video of it all back together and running.

Yes, cam chain tensioner. I listened to the vid, I don't hear anything resembling a bearing issue or a slap issue.

These engines are noisy, I totally understand being overly concerned, but I don't hear anything from the video. Bottom end issues usually do come through the audio on videos nowadays.

Okay I was more optimistic that it was nothing, but hearing yalls opinions as well makes me feel a lot better. I just never herd this thing run or rode it before so obviously I didn't know what it was like before, or what was normal and what wasnt. Thanks guys!!
