loosen the upper and lower triple tree clamps and slide the forks up a little at a time. make sure you have something supporting the front end so it doesnt slide all the way down. i used 2 tie downs strapped to the ceiling. make sure u get them even.

I lowered my front and rear a couple of inches and that made the ride rougher and a little harder in the corners.

johndoe,
While on the subject. I've seen two different lowering links the ones that look like a triangle and the on that looks like a bone kinda thing is just one link and is traight with three wholes on one end and one on the other. which one did you use? I'm thinking of lowering my bike a little 1" if possible but I think all links are for 2" and up. Is this hard to do?

I have the bone type, but either will work. its easy to do, start by removing the plastics, then get a floor jack and put up against the oil pan bolt, dont have too much lift all u need is enough to support the bike. remove the nuts and bolts, u may need to use a hammer to knock out the bolt. replace the stock dogbone or link with the aftermarket one. slowly lower the lift so the holes line up. get all the nuts and bolts back on and plastics. you will need to cut your kickstand to stand right, a little cut goes a long way so take a little off at a time.
