Default Looking at a 929RR. Need advice. Should I buy this one?

Hey guys! so pretty much I sold my 600RR a week ago and in the store for a new bike! I first looked at a CBR 954RR but I sort of decided not to get it because of its high mileage which is about 46k. I have been looking around and came across a 929RR. It doesent seem like a bad bike but the guy lives about 4 hours away from me! I talked to the guy through text and he told me that he will be willing to sell it at $3600 cash in hand. What are your guy's advice?

46k on a 954? Thats break in mileage! If it purrs then she is fine. But if youre set on the 929 I'd offer like 3200.00. If you can get a 954 with 46k that has been well maintained for 3500.00 I would pass up this 929.

I've had both the 954 and my current 929, (And around 40 other sportbikes over the last few years.) The 954 definitely looks better but performance wise is so similar that many will not notice a difference. You'll like the increase in torque over your 600. I agree with the sentiment that 46k is nothing to worry about. I'd be more concerned with making sure the gearbox shifts well then the miles on th engine. $3600 is fair price. Not a steal though.

Definitely check out either thoroughly. My 929 which I procured last year is great save one thing. Bent shift fork at 20k. Still shifts alright most of the time but it will need to have the engine pulled this winter. If the tranny is ragged on you could end up with a $1500-2000 repair in the end. Make sure both shift well under hard acceleration from 1st to 2nd, that'll be your indicator.

Kk then. Well I saw another 929RR. This one caught my attention! Its a 2000 929 all Black. The thing is it has been down by the current owner and slid IDK how far at like 30 MPH. Damages seems pretty minor! just like a scratched fairings and missing mirror but other than that it seems fine. It caught my attention cause It probably would make a good street fighter! If not then maybe I can just sand the fairing then spray paint it! Anyway here are some pics and has pretty good exhaust!

That's quite the road rash. Could always talk him down, order fairings from Motorcycle Fairings, Motorbike Fairing, Aftermarket Motorcycle Fairing | NiceCycle, and get a mirror via ebay. Though I'd be sure to have a shop check it out to be sure that the damage is only cosmetic.
