Hi i am new to this forum and i just bought a 2000 929 in great shape. I do have one question does anyone know what the red flashing light is that is by rhe oil symbol that keeps flashing. I did changr the oil but it was on befor that any help would be great

 

i always thought the only red light was for the kickstand sensor?? but i dont know why it would always flash? hopefully someone else can help more

if the red light is flashing constantly it is throughing off a fault code.

how many long flashes and how many quick flashes?

this is how the problem is coded, and there is omeone on this forum that knows what they are but its not me.

 

Find out the number of flashes...there's an interval (like 2 seconds or something) between the beginning and the end of the sequence of flashes for the code.

For example:

Three flashes <pause> Two flashes <pause> Three flashes <pause> Two flashes...and so on.

Answer = Code 32


*Should* be a two digit code...I'm trying to do this from memory so please double check this information.

I believe the owner's manual has the list of codes...not 100% on that.

If you did any work besides oil change, something's probably unplugged still.

 

yeah, the error codes are in the CBR 929 manual. common reasons are caused by california bike with o2 sensor off, or malfunction.
