just got an 01 929rr... 12,000 mi... stretched 12" , and the bike hasn't been babied.... so there are a few issues that i thought maybe ya'll would know about....

- has a roar in the front end, "i take it that its the wheel bearing"
-it has a knock that is pronounced when at idle and the clutch is let out..." i had a guy tell me it was a burr on a bearing on my clutch basket/ shaft....????"
- steering shimmy at higher speeds 75-145
- bad vibration from motor/ ? at around 4-5k rpm, kinda makes my hands go to sleep.

 

check out the other recent posts on engine noise, maybe your answer is in there. these bikes do make a lot of noise though. as for your hands there wasjust a post the other day about that. I think it happens a lot, need to invest in a quality pair of gloves. hopefully this helps. welcome to 929 land!
