Default Getting to plugs??

I just bought a 2000 929RR less than a month ago. (I'll have pictures up soon, I promise.) Well when I bought it, the guy gave me a set of new spark plugs for it and told me that it would probably need them soon. He had the power commander running very rich. Now I believe the plugs are fowled. It will turn over, it just won't fire and crank up. When I try to start it, I can smell gas from the exhaust. I am going to change the plugs and then get it remapped to lean it out some.

My question is this, can I get to the plugs from the top? The owners manual says to remove the middle fairings and the lower fairing, then move the radiator towards the front. I don't see why I couldn't just raise the tank, move the airbox, and get them swapped that way. Anyone know the easiest way to do this?

Sorry guys, I just looked around and found my answer. Damn newbie!!!

Still though, any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm going to do it by raising the tank.

I've read that you might wanna change your fuel pressure regulator as well.

If it still has the power commandor on it, go get that bish dyno tuned to lean out the a/f mixture to a more acceptable level. If the power commandor is off, it should be running to factory specs.

And yeah, raising the tank is definitely the only way to go. If you can attach it overhead somehow, that's even better. Other than that it's an easy job.

It is easy from the front. the bike doesnt have a disconect for the gas lines so it was a pain to work around the tank when i changed my air filter. are they denso plugs? mine were $28.00 each.
good luck
