Default over heating in traffic?

On my 929 it's not un-common for my bike to run about 225 or so in traffic but when I get in free air it's fine. Is this normal or should I be worried?

My 06 1krr runs as high as 227 in traffic...but then again it was 112 out today.....I have Engine Ice in my radiator, and it keeps the bike cooler than it would be without it, plus increases the boiling point so i don't flush all over the freeway....cost me $32 for two quarts, well worth the money

about 220 is normal in slow traffic. my fan kicks on at 217 and with the engine ice it has to be pretty hot for that.

Mine gets as high as 233 in humid 85+ weather here in Michigan with regular coolant in rush hour traffic. Never had any problems. Fan also is kicking on at 217. Sometimes hard to tell what's hotter me or the bike.

I def. wouldn't suggest turning the bike off when it's hot and leting it cool down like that. It's even worse than letting it sit hot. When you turn the bike off and it ools down that fast all the contracting and expanding so fast is not good for the bike. Just let it run hot and ride it to cool it off. I put some of the Engine Ice in my bike and it's bad ***!!! I see about ten degree difference in temp.

well the thing is i did that but that didnt help all that much seeing how it was 100 deg. out, so i basically get all the way down as far as it could go then i turned it off, but the fan wasnt working so only reason i did that
