Default GEARING QUESTION???

I am going to get new gears for my 929. I have read that -1 front and +2 rear is the way to go. I was wondering if I can just get away with going +4 rear and leave the front alone seeing that my buddy had a 47 tooth that he will sell for $20.00 (Thanks to all that reply!) Any goods or bads to doing this?

if your on your stock chain (108 links), i dont think +4 rear will fit.

on my -1 +2 my stock chain was pretty tight.

+4 in the back will equal -1 in front and +1 in back. Nothing wrong with that if you are getting a new chain, but the 47 tooth gear may not fit under the chain guard without rubbing, so you might want to check your clearances.
