Fuel pump will not start :-(
hi guys,
my first post here and im already looking for help [&o]. i was drivng along one evening lately and my bike (2000 model) just dies, completely. I get it home and try to start it, it turns over and over but not firing at all. So, out comes the haynes manual and i start doing some checks, i did notice straight away that when i turn the key to on there is no whur from the fuel pump. i've taken off the tank and tested the pump directly and it works fine, the fuel pump relay isnt coming on, the ecm,for some reason is not telling it to come on, ive also tested the cable coming out of the ecm to the fuel pump relay and its fine. I've also changed the ecm just to be sure and the exact same problem occured. I linked the connector beside the battery to check error codes and the red led just stays on constantly. Has anyone got any ideas? what signal does the ECM require on startup to bring on the fuel pump? Thanks in advance for any help recieved.
ps, the bank angle sensor is working and the main bike run relay is clicking on, also checked the fuses and all ok.

RE: Fuel pump will not start :-(
Did you go thru the diagnostics test on the service manual on the 929 main page? There's a test you can do to determine where possible problems are.
But dude, you seemed to have gone thru em all! I bet the honda guys would be scratching their heads at this post. Maybe double check the ground? Like add an additional ground wire, and go to a ground bolt somewhere on the chassis. Only thing I could think of.
Welcome btw!
