so the 05 f4i doesn't have a flapper?

 

As far as I know, from what I read... the flapper is on the larger bikes like the 1000RR. It's there to reduce noise from the air intake so they can pass inspections. You can use a light a look into your vent ducts to see it. If it's there.. it only will only open at higher rpm when the system builds up enough vacuum pressure. It will not open when you're at idle or just revving the engine.
