Default clutch break-in?

some background: I did a clutch job in the off season, soaked the plates overnight, install according to manual (as close as possible). I used EBC cork fiberplates.

today I head out on the road and taking off from a stop the bike shudders as the clutch engages. I can't think of a good comparison, but it sure feels like the fibers are grabby. once i'm moving, I don't notice anything, shifts are smooth and there is no slippage at all... did i miss a break in step or what? What could i have screwed up on install?

Clutch chatter is common in cars with real grippy clutches and no damper springs. It's usually attributed to the suspension being too soft for the amount of power being made. So as the suspension vibrates it slips and locks the clutch over and over really fast as the tires lose and gain grip on the road. Try slipping your clutch a bit more (be "mean" to it) and it might smooth out any rough spots. Did you sand the metal disks at all? I always hit mine with 400 grit to remove any of the old material/glasing so break in takes 1 ride. Can't say my bikes ever chattered at me though.
