Default Charging 12v with 6v

hello guys im new to the forums and was experiencing battery problems right after fixing R/R and getting a new Stator. Last night i hooked up my battery to a charger and left it charging at 6v the battery is a 12v and was wondering if this could effect the batteries life or how much charge i get. Any post will be appreciated, Thanks.

Should be alright. Better trying a 12v battery on 6v than a 6v battery at 12v. Is the battery charged up? If not, put it on a low amp trickle for a few hours.
