Mine is a 2001, so I would think that the line was updated before my bike was made. But what I have is not the problem here.

If you truly have the correct line, it's gotta fit somehow.

Hmm interesting, the recall says 2000 and 2001 but it's possible depending on the production yours may have been rectified before it was made based on the earlier issues so it's got no issue.

The line definitely fits, I have fitted it already but I am not happy with the way the line routes in a U shape, it's got about 4 inches of clearance from the engine (just above the transmission/speed sensor?) Some others have routed it with a U shape facing the tank, but I can't get it to fit that way.

I guess since there are already plenty of wires there and some hosing, the heat in that part of the engine area is not as substantial as near the cylinders so it will be OK. I've just applied some heatshielding now, should keep it nice and cool.
