03 600RR rear brake light switch wire routing?
when i bought my bike, the rear brake light switch didn't work, and when i had the tail off, i realized that it was because there was no wire between the switch and the wiring harness connector. i repaired the wiring and it works, but i don't know how the factory wire is routed. it looks like there's supposed to be a heat shield over the exhaust, but i can't really tell. If someone wouldn't mind pulling off the trim between the tank, tail, and front seat on the right side, as well as the exhaust cover above the right rearset and maybe snapping some pictures of their wiring, that would be great. I took some pictures of the wiring i'm talking about. thanks!

how long are the wires attaching the sensor to the connector supposed to be? i made them about 6" long, but i think they might need to be longer. will the connector be visible still? there's a spot for a mounting tab on the harness connector, but i don't know where that tab is. any more detail would be great - i don't want the wire just bouncing around next to my motor and/or exhaust.
your best bet is to make them longer than you need and then wire tie the hell out of them.
get the DEI spark plug wire shield and put around the wires so engine heat wont hurt them

Here is a pick of the wire routing. Like Baxsom said, use spark plug wire shield for a heat shield. Hope this helps.

sweet thank you so much!! i had a feeling that was how it went, but i didn't like that sharp angle of the wire before the plug.. anyway, thanks for taking the picture!
