Default adjusting timing?

My 929 lags from a dead stop to about 3k rpms i'm hoping it can be fixed by adjusting the timing. anyone know how to adjust it?

I don't believe you can adjust the ignition timing, man, I think that's all handled by the ECM. The "timing" marks I've read about had to do with valve timing.

If I were you I'd be thinking tune-up, fuel filter, maybe fuel system issues, or air control (HTEV, intake flapper, etc).

Anybody know if the ign timing's adjustable?

No. Its not like a car, there is no adjustment. You can make a change but you have to replace the timing rotor to change it, and it can be done +2 OR +4 with a part change. But you have to get inside the case to do it.

yeah i think in all computer controlled vehicles, cars and bikes, you cant adjust the timing. thats what the computer is for. have you thought about checking your spark plugs?

PS - Yeah, no adjustment, and I checked my book, and the marks I was thinking of do relate to ignition timing, but they're only for checking it.
And believe me, speaking as an old man who remembers distributor caps, ignition points and adjustable timing, those days are HAPPILY gone!
