929 Dynoed and freaking shocked
^ Nope your right on. Bukwld just forget the sprocket thing, just take it right out of your equation, it means absolutly nothing hp wise, -1 or stock. All the -1 will do from stock is give you quicker acceration, but not from hp gain or loss.
Let's go slow and pull this apart:

|> thats awsome to hear. so basically I lost power going 1 tooth down in front, as where
|> everyone I know tells me to go 1 tooth down and I'll get more power.
|>
Gearing has -nothing- to do with the amount of power your motor produces. Zilch. Zero. Nada.
It -does- impact how that power gets to the ground. Lower gearing will mean that the engine is spinning at higher revs for the same speed. So, all the dyno did was confirm that you gearing change has last you a few MPH, though you will get there quicker.

|> I've asked on here and gotten responses that the 01 929 stock pushes 125-130 stock.
|> So amazingly I did see a jump in power.
|>
From your first post, you got what was expected from your setup. A slip-on on these bikes is pretty much just audio bling. In order to get power improvements, pretty much top-end race-type improvements, you would go to a full system.
|>
|> If I can acquire a replacement header/midpipe for cheaper like 200 and what not, I'd do it.
|>
What ever cranks the handle, my friend. Though, without some serious investment you are not likely to see much of an improvement, IMO.
|>
|> I'm not really in this for the power, but like having a bar graph as to what my bike puts
|> down actually for personal knowledge..

If this is truly the case, then save your money for track days and advanced rider courses. They will make you way faster and way happier, not to mention safer, than brag numbers on a dyno chart.
In any case, on dyno numbers you are going to get toasted by R1s and GSX1000s.
HTH
I agree that I'll get toasted by anything over 1000 basically. I've done a lot of thinking and am happy the way the bike is now, so no real comparision.
This was my first dyno shoot ever, and next one that I enter, I'll just go the way it is and see what category I fall into. I don't pay for the dyno runs since they are free for people since the shop is doing a open house event.
As long as it's free, who cares.
I get a little carried away at times. thanks for the help everyone...

ok,i have read all of the posts in this thread, now my stock cbr "i know for a fact"topped out at 180 mph i just bought it,it had 2000 miles on it just last month,139 hp sounds right,as far as not going above 136,sorry man my 2000 did way better than that,is there some kind of change between the 00 and the 01s i do not know about
I have had my '01 929 dynoed a few years back and it was 127hp with 68ftlbs of torque. I ran a tad rich in the 3000-4200 RPM range which on the road I can feelin part throttle low rpm situations.
I am not sure what kind of dyno it was as it was a few years ago. The dealership did say thatstock factory new 929s dynoed around 113-116hp and 53-58ftlbs of torque on their machine.
I was expecting much more since the magazines were putting up 125-130hp on their dynoes with stock bikes.
The mods I have done that would affect the dyno are as follows:
K&N filter
PCIII with the correct map for my combo but not custom mapped to my bike.
Leo Vinci slip on
The correct map did make a huge difference. It was orginally running a TwoBros map when I bought the bike new since there were no maps yet for the Leo Vinci. She still has the flapper valve and the HTEV. The stock headers are damn good so I see no need to upgrade them unless I could score a Micron Serpent setup.
The funny thing is once I got the correct map in the bikeshe turned into a beast and quickly forced me to buy a Scott's Steering Damper!!
