shocked
I bought my bike an 01 cbr 929 off a freind of mine who went on to upgrade to a 03 gixxer 1000. The other day we were riding 2gether and asked if we could switch bikes for a while. I didnt think much of it till i got on his bikeand rode for a couple of miles. i was shocked at how different the handling was and how much faser his bike was over mine. I always thought the reason i had a hard time keeping up with him was because his aws a better and more experienced rider which is obviously true but it wasnt as tough once iwas using the gsxr. Not knowing much about bikes since im still a newbie I am always asking questions and i was told that the 929s are slow bikes for their size . would like to hear some of youropinions it wont make me change bikes either way i love mine but am curious as to what you say.
Some bikes also just fit the rider better. I know a couple guys, one who has a 2004 R6 and the other who has a 2005 GSXR 750. They have switched for fun numerous times and the guy with the R6 claims that he is and feels faster on the R6 simply because, "Everything about the bike blends well with how he likes to ride."
So, go figure.
So, go figure.
No doubt on paper the GSXR 1k is faster than the 929, hell its faster than my 1krr; Suzuki has done pretty well with its litre bikes and honda has been trying to catch up but still not quite there; I rode both, and the GSXR just didn't do it for me; it was fast, but that's not the only thing I bought my bike for; and +1 on the certain bikes for certain riders; half the battle on getting the right sport bike is finding one that you feel comfortable and confident on. Don't get me wrong, the gsxr vs the 1krr is not a walk away win by the gxsr, all of the litre bikes are pretty close, and rider skill makes a lot of difference. I've never ridden the 929, but I'd assume that its a bit slower than the 954 which is a bit slower the the 1krr; but all are faster than the average rider needs or can safely use. Keep in mind, some bikes simply feel fast faster, the 1krr is deceptively fast, meaning i really don't know how fast i am going then happen to look done and say oops!
