520 conversion
eh without a change in sprockets.. pretty useless unless racing on the track.. now if you were to go -1 front +2 in rear.. with 520.. that would be useful and a good idea if looking for more torque in your lower end
if your not going to do sprockets dont bother w/ the chain. might as well do both. i went stock on front and +7 on rear. even if you dont change the teeth on the front sprocket you have to get a counter spocket for the new chain width.
I went -1 in the front and stock in the rear with the 520 chain, I must say damm what a diff, I only got about 100miles on the new stuff when the add TQ pushed me right over the balance point and now I got some fixen to do. the new power is sick and I loved it, but it jumped up faster in 1st then I was ready for. I just wasn't thinking, if you do it ride with some care for a while. good luck
now say i go -1 up front and +2 in the rear what is it going to do to my top mph. I top out about 170ish now but i dont want it to drop to like 140 or anything. Does anyone think i should just go -1 up front and stock in the rear?
I've had everything from -1/+2 to -1/+20 on my 929, I just went back to the -1/+2 and I'm happy with it. I haven't topped out yet, but I'm not looking for anything over 160, as long as I get there in less than 9.5 seconds. I sold my gixx 1k dragbike, and now I'm turning my stuntbike in to a strip monster. If you're not putting 160 plus HP to the rear wheel from a dead stop, I would go with the 520 conversion, but I'm sticking with the the 530 especially since I'm streched and going to run an 8" slick.
