I don't have the slip anymore, but back in 1994 I ran a 10.8 with my '94 RR. All stock.
I dont remember the trap speed but remember the bike was shifting from 3rd to 4th crossing the finish line.
Later on, I put a TBR pipe, Factory Jet kit, 4 degrees V&H ignition advancer, -1/+2 sprockets, and ran the exact same time. Only difference was I was now shifting from 4th to 5th crossing the line.

10.55 is a good time Johnny. That is what they ran from the factory right out of the box. Remember that those times were usually done by magazine journalists who get paid to ride motorcycles all day 365 days a year, so they pretty much know what they are doing. Also, they usually get the smallest 150 pounder to do the drags. You did great!
I had a magazine back in '93 that had Jay Gleason (professional drag racer) run a 10.40 on a stock '93 900RR. Wish I still had all of those old magazines.

what did you do with all your old magazines? did you just get tired of looking at them and just toss them one day?
do you still have 94 ye old bike??
and if you do, I have a question for you... have you ever had to replace the ignition pulse generator?
I was thinking of doing the timing advance, do you think its worth it after all these years..hows your bike ride today???
your probably wondering why all the questions.. on my 97 streetfighter the ignition pulse generator failed, but that was after almost 4 weeks of tinkering with it and not really getting anywhere and as a matter of fact that was the last thing I thought it would be, causing me to have a no spark problem, anyway finally figured it all out..i just wanted to ask you about your mods, especially if you still own the bike after all this time..

Jason,
I lost all of the old mags in Hurricane Katrina. I managed to find a lot of them via eBay, but some of them I can't find anywhere.
I actually had two '94 RR's. I bought one in the summer of '93 and sold it a few years later. I bought another '94 in '08 and still have it today. That is the one in the "Ye Old Bike" pictures. The first one that I bought brand new was the one that I did all of the mods to. I never changed the pulse generator on it. To be honest with you, the mods I did on it were barely noticeable. It sounded bad *** and in my mind I though it was faster, but the timeslips don't lie. That is one of the reasons I didn't modify this bike at all. The other is that you simply don't see a bike this old unmodified these days. As far as the pulse generator goes, it doesn't seem like it would be very difficult to swap out. As with anything bike related, just take your time. Have you found a replacement yet? I would probably get a new one from Honda on a part like that.
