Default Valve adjustment

Hi all, hopin for a little help......I have a '95 RR. After it gets warmed up there is a clacking sound from the header area. The sound occurs sometimes at idle and under load until 4000 rpm or so. It's not real bad, but it is noticeable. The bike runs great otherwise. It's got a full muzzy system on it. I think it may need a valve adjustment, any advice? Do I need a shop for this?

Default RE: Valve adjustment

how many miles are on it? I have a feeling it is the cam chain tensioner. They are prone to go out. its not a hard fix and I personally recomend a manual onr like the one that Cycles US sells. I would recomend APE but I have had a some issues with thier customer service.
But they are really easy to install and will far out last the factory one. However if it needs the valves set i would recomend taking it to a shop it can be done by a hobbiest (I do it on my bike). But its pretty technical removing cams and retiming the motor are involved.
