i asked the same question, it will fit in the swingarm but they say where the stock wheel is 5.5" the tire will fit weird. i plan on putting a 190-50 on mine, bc i got it for cheap.

It will change the profile of the tire and not gain you a single thing and in fact may hurt cornering performance but for just riding and if they were cheap, they will fit.

GIXXEREATER! IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! GIVE THAT MAN A CCCCIGAR!!! A 190/50/17 SHOULD NEVER BE PUT ON THE STOCK WHEEL OF ANY CBR 900RRs! YOU NEED THE WHEEL WIDEN OR PURCHASE A 5.5 WHEEL! ANY WIDER: TO A 6.0-6.25 YOU NEED TO ORDER A CUSTOM SWING ARM TO FIT IT AND SPACERS TO COMPINSATE FOR CHAIN ANGLE!!! PUTTING A WIDER TIRE ON A NARROW RIM AS STATED BY GIXXEREATER IS PUTTING YOR *** ON THE GROUND!!! FOR REAL!!! INCREASING THE TIRE PROFILE OR HIGHT,INCREASES THE ANGLE OF THE TIRE IN THE VERTICAL! MEANING! WHEN YOU LEAN THE BIKE OVER INTO A TURN, THERE IS LESS OF A RUBBER PATCH OR AS KNOWN AS THE CONTACT PATCH! THE FOOT PRINT OF THE TIRE TOUCHING THE ROAD! RECENTLY IN BOSTON, A RIDER WENT DOWN IN A TURN INTO INCOMMING TRAFFIC AND WAS KILLED!!! THE STATE POLICE FOUND THAT HE WAS RUNNING A 200/50/17 ON A 98 CBR 900RR! HIS FAMILY IS NOW SUEING THE DEALER FOR PUTTING ON THE TIRE!!!

Accually, the stock wheel on the cbr 900 is 5.5. I installed a wheel from a cbr929 off a 2001 which measures 6 inchs with a 190 and it fits perfect with alot of clearence on the swing arm. The axle shaft on the 929 is bigger in diameter but a bearing change took mcare of that. Johnny

YOUR RIGHT!!! BUT, YOU ARE STILL PUTTING A WIDER TIRE NOT DESIGN FOR THE REAR WHEEL OF A CBR 900RR! KOSMAN WIDENS THE WHEEL FOR ABOUT $450! A 1/4 in. ASIDE! GIVES YOU A 6.0! FROM A 5.5! IS WHAT I MEANT THANK YOU!!! IF YOU LOOK INTO THE REAR WHEEL SPROCKET HUB, YOU WILL SEE THAT THEIR IS ROOM TO PUT A WIDER TIRE! BUT THE REAR WHEEL ASSY: OF A CBR 900RR DOES NOT ALLOW FOR FURTHER ROOM! MUST CUSTOM MAKE A NEW SPROCKET HUB AND SPACERS TO GET IT TO WORK !!! THE 929 AND THE 954 REAR WHEELS WILL WORK!!! AND SO WILL THE ENTIRE FRONT FORK ASSY: WITH THE FRONT WHEEL!!! SWEET!!!

GP Commander, could you check your CAPSLOCK, its kinda annoying to read your applies.

I would look for a good deal for the correct size tire, there are plenty of them out there.

In reply to gpcommander; I don't think you understood what I just said, the cbr929 comes with a 190 stock and the rear wheel is 6.0 inches wide. Everything from the 929 bolts right up to the 900. I did it. The distance on the swing arm is the same and the chain centers exactly the same. The reason I did it is becauce I needed a three spoke wheel to match my from wheel which is a three spoke from a suzuki. I put a gsxr front suspention forks and thriple tree from a 2001 gsxr750 which also bolts on. You don't have to go through all the trouble your talking about. Johnny
