A test of loyalty
Thanks! You and I see it that way, but the majority of people outside of this forum just see it as an old bike worth about $2500 or so. I wouldn't sell mine for twice that amount, but that is just me.
Honestly, I think if someone who didn't know anything about bikes saw your bike they would think it was just purchased, and of course new bikes in 2010 are going for a bit more than $2,500!
I turned down a trade for a Porche. It was an old Porche but still.
Umm , Mine is a '98 that I bought outright brand new. I was really into the sport back then and went thru a couple of 'new' bikes every year for a while , regulary buying and trading. Since he was fully paid for , the '98 always sat contently waiting for it's "in betwen time" to enjoy the open road. Years later , after a couple of moves and life changes , it's down to just me and my trusted wingman. He's still in about showroom condition with at least a few grand of typical mods in it and at about 7k miles.
I just have no interest in anything new , not because they new stuff isn't amazing or enticing but I'm just not in that place anymore and the 'ol 900RR is more than plenty for back and forth to work and honestly . . . now attracts quite a bit of attention. Much like an old muscle car or something to those 'in the know' and those that aren't think it's a new bike anyway.
That's being said. . . yeah , I'd sell it but only for enough $$$ to get something new and do the few things to it that I always do to a new bike. Obviously that puts it at well over twice it's invested value but that's what it would take to let it go so I'm saying $10-$12k-ish.

$25,000 with the bills verified genuine in a bank.
That'd buy me a brand new 2010 600rr (Leyla), let me go out and find another 06 F4i in blue with low miles, a bike trailer and a whole lot of gear. Cause one of them would be a track baby. Prolly the F4i since it'd be wasting the Leyla scheme to only run her at the track.
