I just got me a 1996 Honda CBR900RR and so far I love it

I've read a few post's and not 100% sure but I'm sure you all have answered it and I have reason to believe the CCT after reading a lot of the posts but when I ride the bike every now and then I'll hear a tap tap tap sound like something is hitting something usually when first starting the bike and taking off almost sounds like it shifts but it dont its just a tap sound...

Also how hard is it to put the new CCT in? and is there a specific one I need if that is the problem?
