[]Rookie takes on big project.Bought the bike 1996 900 from my buddy with the new trans (used supposed 5K miles) that I need to put in. I'm no mechanic, but damm I'm trying hard right now. Pulled the motor (which is a story for another time) and took off covers. I'm looking at the crapy pics in the Manual but you know how that goes. Herearemy questions:

1)Does the Flywheel and Clutch really have to come off and if so,

2)"Special Tools".....Really? Cant afford this crap for the hopefully one time affair
-Clutch Tool? Need it? If so is there a generic or must I spend a ton at the dealer?
-Flywheel Tool? Need it?And is that a left handed thread?

3)Never done a Clutch or Trans. I see the pics but, how bad is this gonna be? Fellow Newb Back Yard Mechanics please chime in here!

I'm looking for any input right now. If you have done this project, I need to hear from you. I'm starting to feel like I'm in over my head and wanna get this done! This Forum has been huge help in the past and it's appreciated! Thanks!
