speedometer and odometer not working

speedometer and odometer not working

The previous owner dropped the bike, and now the speedometer and odometer dont work 90 % of the time, what can I check for damage and how do I know where is the problem ? its a cbr 900RR 1998

Probably a short in the ground wire to the guage cluster some where. You might try checking the connections.

Also, check fuses. These gauges are electronic, so chances are you need new gauges if it isn't anything already mention before hand.

its because it is working sometimes perfectly but just for a couple of minutes then it stops again for 30 min then it works again for a minute etc
