spark plugs
quick dumb question
do those $20-$30 spark plugs really make any difference? the ones with 3 or 4 prongs instead of just the one?
and if so- which brand have u found to be your favorite-
just curious?

Nobody but the manufacturers were ever able to show any tests where their plugs came out ahead. Those type of plugs (E3, etc), generally run to hot for bike engines anyway (even turbo cars seem to not get along well with them). My F3 runs noticably better with plain old NGKs in it instead of iridiums, even.
+1 for NGK , honda used them for a reason, hot spark and reliable, ive read different opinions on this and mine is that thos plugs are a gimmick, i tried a set of split fires years ago in my F2 and cant say i noticed a difference, also it seems to me that anything that gets in the way of the air/fuel mix in the cylinder is not a good thing,, also has anyone heard of plug indexing? this is when you mark the plugs open mouth and face every plug the same direction so that the most complete burn of the mix will occour. thus meaning racers would not use anything to slow the mix down.
Good stuff to know. Sometimes we get so frenzied to get the best for our rides, that manufacturers can pull the wool over our eyes.
And I agree bam bam. Engine builders go through great pains to maximize flow in the combustion chambers. Four prongs in there could alter that flow like carbon deposits do.
