Default Rotor problems

I posted this in general tech, I'm having problems putting rotors back on the front rim. Are they supposed to be hard to put back on? Is there a trick to it? Is there any way I can check to see if these rotors even go to this rim? Any info will help, just tryin to get it all put back together so I can put my tire on and change my rims

What is not fitting? Holes not lining up? Did you recently have your wheels painted or powdercoated?

The rotors are off of a 96, the rims are chrome off of a 97, it doesn't seem like the holes for the rotors really line up, and the rotor doesn't seem like it wants to go all the way back against the rim?

I believe that the same rotors will fit either of those years. When I had my wheels powdercoated, the rotors did not want to go on because of the thickness of the powdercoat. I wonder if yours are doing the same thing with the chrome plating. I used a rubber mallet and lightly tapped around the rotor housing until they worked themselves on the rim. After that, I just turned the rotors until the bolt holes lined up. If you don't have a rubber mallet, you can get a block of wood and a regular hammer. Just a thought!

I believe I will try that. Did chrome rims come on 97's, or should I be looking for newer rotors/calipers? Or if its a 98 or newer rim will it even fit? Thank you for your fast responses!

None of them came from the factory with chrome wheels. Someone had them chromed. I think the rotors that you have will fit, just give them a "little" persuasion. Definitely don't beat them on there.
