you need more than a basic set of tools to do the job, including a carb sync. The carbs must be removed and partially disassembled in order to change the jets and needles. Then you have to tune each circuit if you want to get the most out of the kit. It takes some practice, and knowing what the bike should feel like at optimal settings when you ride it. I am sure there is a writeup somewhere for this online. But if you don't have the tools or a good garage space I would refer this to a shop. Just make sure that they know what they are doing.
