Default Rear Brake Master Cylinder Compatibility

Hi Guys,

I need to replace the rear brake master cylinder on my 98 900RR.

I'm looking for replacements on ebay and many that come up are for between the years 93-97.

They look exactly the same physically but I'm worrying if it will affect my performance.

Are they compatible? I did a search on the forum and google and didn't come up with much.

Thanks.

P.S. If there is any sort of thread that directs what parts are compatible/swappable with each year of the 900RR or other models please let me know so I don't have to post silly threads like this.

It's the same...but there's no threads on it for the screws...which means it's technically not compatible. I had to go get bolts and nuts.

I take back the former post. Unfortunately it's not compatible at all. After a cleaning of the original and a full brake flush, the rear brake is acting perfectly normal!
