Race Bike Build
well. it all started with this;
its a 96 sc33 cbr 900. Vfr single sided swing arm with vfr front and rear wheels. home made sub frame to fit a riaju (or something) seat unit.
first things first, seat unit in the bin, vfr wheels and swing arm off...
tadaaaa.
so other than the swing arm bearings being buggered i had a complete back end, next up, subframe in the bin, new alloy lightweight subframe to house a honda rs125 seat unit. the reason i went with the 125 seat unit is simply that my main race bike is a honda rs125, so i had a crash damaged seat unit, with a quick search i found someone had beaten me to the finish line.
ah well heres the subframe
now with the seat unit mounted
and finally the exhaust link pipe made up. The headers had been cut right after the pipes join so it was a simple case of making up a new link pipe, and i decided it would be cool to make it a bit more high level, which i think it is!
wheel bearings where next on the list
i am currently waiting for a battery box to be made up, as i am relocating the battery to just infront of the rear frame spar, where the rad tank should be. This moves a bit of weight downwards and more central.
i have just got a cbr 600 (2000) fairing which with any luck will be wide enough to go around the mahoosive tank and frame.
check back in a few days and we should see some progress!
