Default Pegs, difference between years?

Just had a closer look at another 900RR, I have a 98 myself. This had smaller (slimmer) foot pegs. The one next too also.

Looking at the internet, it appears I have 92-95 pegs on my 98. Anyone know how much difference there is? Is the 96-97 the same as the 98-99.

Could I just buy the pegs or do I need the "whole unit" toupgrade to the correct pegs. Kinda annoys me to know they're not the right kind.

All you need are the pegs, they will bolt right on. Here in the U.S., 93-94 (--we had no official '92', it was labeled as '93' even though it was available for sale in spring '92) have the wider step, whereas 95-99 has a more narrow one. The V-shaped bracket holding the step to the frame is the same part for 93-97 and slightly different for 98-99, but the step itself will fit any year holder bracket.

Just picked up a pair of pegs at the local mechanic, 40 bucks well spend.
