Default ok so Im the idiot!!

Well a little history.... I have been riding bikes since 99, I have had my share of bikes and of coarse crashes!!
So here it is... Sunday October 8th around 4:30pm..
Me, my 7.5 month pregnant woman and our 2 kids are looking for something to do... So I call the local bike guys and see what they are doing. They are all up at the local "stunt" spot (if anyone tells I will have to kill them for leaking the awesome spot)
So me and my troop head up to see the "boys", there we meet up with my cousin and a few of his friends..
They are all like "man we cannt wheelie any of our bikes".. so I, of coase, offer to show them how to, for the rest of the afternoon Im wheeling an 06 sv1000 and an 06 636, to show these kids the bikes can wheelie.
So here I am thinking I am superman and stuff and I grab the key to my cousin's 06 sv650. The MOST balanced hooligann bike I have ever ridden!! So I make like three clean passes (low speed straight up and down wheelies) and than the worst happenes!
On the FINAL pass ( No helmet or leathers) I clutch up at 8mph and the bike walks to the left so I correct with my weight and pull the damn thing clean off the right side of the back tire!!
As I am getting back up after everyone comes running over, I calmly walk back to my tahoe where the WHOLE family has just watched me loop the bike and she drives me home.
Later to the Emegency room to find out that an 8mph wheelie does more damage to a person than 60-80 mph wheelie, I have four broken ribs and a a fractured sholder blade!! Road rash too but it comes with the territory!!
So I am out of work for 8 weeks with NO pay.... stuck at home with two kids and pregnant woman!!!
MAN I WILL NEVER DROP A WHEELIE EVER AGAIN!!!!!!

P.S. Nothing happened to the bike.... It landed on my fat A$$!!

Hey hows the ribs doing? I enjoy reading stories like this, it makes me think of my little guy every day i go out and ride. I'm glad that you are ok. You are a really lucky guy. If it was me I would have had the biggest bill ever. This is just the way my luck goes. I have just started to do some basic tricks, wheelies I must say are really fun. I still cant get it up in 2nd but I will learn how to do it some day. Please keep posting great stories.

Cheers

Learn???? <~~ dont crash wheelies!! J/K I have to learn on a stunt bike instead of a street bike, also I am not superman Im a 31 yo fool that doesnt heal to well anymore!

I think Im gonna stick to club racing at the local track instead of a "wheelie boy".

Ribs are okay thanks for askin! I have now broken my collar bone and ribs and by far theribs hurt more than the collar bone did!! Im still outof work and will be for 5 more weeks but after that I should be back out to my old tricks!!
Oh and 2nd gear I can wheelie or just over 1/2 mile, Im tryin to teach myself how to use the back brake to get the wheelie higher to last longer!

the back brake will keep you from looping, gas will get your front wheel higher.

Darwins theory of natural selection almost strikes again. You showed a lot of responsibility doing tricks without a helmet. Really thinking about the wife and kids I see. The title to the post couldn't be more accurate. And save you breath about me being a safety sam or whatever. Anything can happen at any time, just ask Indian Larry.
