Oil pressure on SC28
Hi there good folks.
So I installed a digital KOSO speedometer and everything was fine and dandy until oil pressure indicator came on when riding. I stopped riding and decided to perform oil pressure test before riding again. I got the tools needed, but before I got to the pressure test I found out that the indicator merely came on as an indicator for oil service interval. Once being reset, light came off. Doh!
But having aquired the tools needed to run an oil pressure test, I chose to carry it out. Haynes manual informs oil pressure to be 71 psi at 6000 rpm. However, the manometer - connected in the threads of the oil pressure switch - gave me a reading of 3 bar (43 psi) at idle and 7 bar (101 psi) at 6000 rpm. Engine was warm when carrying the test and running on 10/40 oil. Does those numbers sound off to you or am I safe to ride the bike without harming it?
Best, Nikolai
