Default oil leaking out of overflow

My f2 when hot starts leaking oil out of the breather tube on the top of the crankcase. Any ideas? Im thinking the pressure relief valve is getting stuck and letting the oil pressure get too high. Thoughts?

if you have access to a oil pressure gauge, you can do an oil pressure test. you may want to look at the crankcase ventilation system (pcv). if that's not functioning correctly, the extra pressure will push oil out everywhere it can. i'm assuming that the oil is not overfilled, of course.

When it first happened the oil was in mid range. And it pushed all the oil out in to the ground. I mean a full quart. So i put new in it. Now its more dripping out of the overflow tube. Not a big deal other than its ending up on the left side of my back tire.

oil on the tire is a very big deal.

let it idle and take off the oil fill cap, slowly. if there is a lot of pressure, look at the pcv valve/system.

Does it smoke out the exhaust? If it does could be cracked or worn rings. Combustion chamber pressure going past the rings into the crank case. Maybe.

Negative Frank. No smoke, it just poured out of the overflow tube.
I can always give pictures to show where i mean. But heres the scenario
It was about 80 at 4pm. I was going to my groups hang out spot which is right off of a main thoroughfare. I had to sit in traffic for about 15 mintues before i could get into the parking lot. The bike got hot, but not anything i haven't experienced in 80.
degree heat. When I parked my bike the oils was a steady stream out of the overflow. After letting it cool, I called my repair shop. They confirmed using 10-40 oil. I bought some and put a fresh ~quart in to the oil fill. Bike has since had a slight dripping out of the same tube. But not like before. Its now winter here in Ny so I won't be riding but I can tear the bike apart and check. The repair manual I have lead me to believe that the breather valve which is in the oil cooler may be getting stuck. But I am unexpereienced with working on bikes. This is my first btw

Did you accidently put to much oil in it before your original post. That would cause it to come out. When you check the oil level the bike should be straight up, not on the side stand, and dont thread the dipstick in. You just poke it it the hole and pull it out. I'm just saying.

What ever the problem is, discount anything to do with the oil pump. Breather lines and pressurised oil feeds are for all intents and purposes unconnected. This sounds like a classic over fill of oil being blown into the breather tube by a slight crank case back pressure. How much would you need to over fill it by though? I do hope there's some other explanation Rico or you're never going to hear the last of this! Grin!!!
