Greetings. I have been surfing the forums for a few months and I decided to join up.

I bought a 1993 900RR in the fall and have had a chance to get it out a few times already this year and I am excited to be motorcycling again. I have added a few decals but here is what it looked like in the fall:

It had quite a lot done to it last spring according to the seller. Oil/plugs/air filter/carbs jetted/front forks/rear shock and spring/new chain/brake pads and they polished the frame and painted all of the body panels. It has been down in it's past but there are only a few artifacts. I took it home for $1900 so I am pretty happy about that (10,000 miles).

I rode for ~5 years about 5 years ago so I am not new to motorcycling but I am new to sport bikes as my last ride was a '84 Nighthawk 700S. I am ATGATT this time around and am looking forward to many safe and sportyer (I made that up) seasons of cycling ahead.

I intended to get out to a track this year but I learned that I will need a one piece suit instead of my current (brand new) First Gear set. I don't think the wife is going to let that happen so that will have to wait.

Question: Should I invest in a steering damper and if so would a Dayton or a different cheapy be worthwhile?

hi, welcome back to riding. the bike looks
nice, i like the polished frame and the color.
i would invest in a good dampener especially
if you plan on riding quite a bit.
good luck w/your bike and be safe.

Welcome, very clean looking bike. Sounds like you got a gem of a bike at that price and in that condition! You'll find out none of the awesome tires come in 16" (front tires), but there are still some great tires being made for it. Glad to hear you are ATGATT. Enjoy the ride, keep the shiny parts away from the pavement, and watch those mirrors when you are at a stop.
