Need help installing a Regulator Rectifier

Default Need help installing a Regulator Rectifier

Hey guys,
Im new to the forum and I was needing some help on how to install Regulator Rectifier on my 1998 Honda CBR 900rr. i know basic knowledge of motorcycle maintenance and just want to make sure im taking the right steps to doing this...

take ground off battery, then unplug harness goin to the old rectifier, unbolt it, bolt the new 1 on, then plug harness back in, then reconnect ground and u r done. Simple as that

thanks for the help chris also i wanted to ask should i leave the battery or can i take it completey out...what is that tool i need to buy to check how many volts my bike is putting out

no reason to take it out unless you really want to, just disconnect the ground wire. you need a voltmeter for the test, check it with the bike running and then again with it off, should be about 12v off and closer to 14V running, 13.7-13.8V I believe. I replaced mine and checked it before I replaced it just to see the difference, running before replacing it was less than 11V, didn't even charge the battery at all.
