Miles Per Gallon on 900RR
-1/+2 sprockets, D&D slip-on. Normally fill up about 150 miles. Right around 40 mpg, with mixed City/Highway Ridiing. 150 miles is roughly 3.7 gallons. This is based off tracking it for the last year.
ok I have a 93
2 bros full exhaust
Cams
Jetted
Cam advance
K@N
custom airbox
Custom rearsets
190/55/17 130/70/16 BattleAx tires
I fill up and go about 200 before I fill again normally about $13 of 91 fillls me up not sure of the gals never looked. I drive 30 miles each way to work on the freeway for 21 of them...But there is probably one diffrence...
Twisting the throllte wide open tends to give me a slight problem...at 7400rpm the bike want...slide my short a$$ out of the saddle...so I tend to stay below 6500rmp 90% of the time
the other 10% I am riding on the weekend and dont care about the milage
so I think that thye best way to contol the milage is to resist that spasmatic, right handed motin ....
just a thought

99 would hover around 47-51 depending on how nice you were to it.
Farthest I reached was 180+ and that was on reserve for probably 11-12 miles at a rapid pace....no pushing involved.
A the track it'll start whining about being low around 80 miles or so.

wtf, i get to about 80-90 miles before i have to switch to reserve, the bike will pretty much die if im riding it and its time to switch to reserve or if im at a light the idle will start to drop so i switch to reserve, is there something wrong that my milage is so low before reserve? Also i have flat slide carbs if that makes a difference
I have gotten 60.12 mpg before on my '94 with K&N and a D&D system. Its all about using the 900's low end torque at stop lights/ signs and, as everyone else has said, resisting the temptation to open that throttle. I have also gotten 31 mpg before
1996 900rr 30K miles. 46 to 49 mpg ... highway. by the way this was my first post, been hangin out here awhile. just got my rr a few months ago put several thousand miles on her over the summer. this is a great forum, very helpful.
