Question Just went and looked at a 900 what do you think

Hey guys,

I just went and looked at a 96 900rr with 37,000 miles.
The guy told me it was having electic issues and he replaced both the stator and the rectifier last year and it still has the same charging issues.
Plus it needs new front and rear tires and a new chain and sprocket. Front bulb is missing as well as the rear plate bulbs. I noticed he cut out some led lights that he had in the engine "for looks" thinking that was part of his problem.
The bike is listed on ebay and stalled out at 2300. I told him the highest I would go would be 1800. Plus it was layed down. It had cracks on both sides of the fairing and marred up sliders as well as the stator cover. The bike sounded good but I did not even ride it....He said it was the Erion edition but I could not tell.
Was I about right on the price that I shot back? Do the Erion editions command more dough? I am new to Hondas "have a duc" but I think I did the right thing and passed....what do you guys think? I know its all personal preference but I would like your guys opinion..

Default Fixable or not?

Don't buy someones else problem. No matter how cheap. Front & rear tire $200-300, full set fairing $600, unable to solve the electricity problem? Priceless...if owner cannot even replace 1 bulb? I doubt he changes the oil? Good decision passing that one.

Sometimes in the heat of the moment when you want something "like I want a CBR bad" you just make some stupid choices....Thanks for the post! it made me feel like I did make the right decision...I will keep looking. I know there are other owners out there who take pride in there machines and I will be able to find a good bike..... I know, I treat my ducati like gold.
