Looks great! I don't have the patience to polish parts, I'm glad others do though

I hope I'm doing this right. Is this what they mean by naked street fighter?

On a serious note, I found a way to get that right side nut off of the swingarm without buying an exceptionally large allen wrench. I went to my trusty bolt bucket and found a nut that fit in the hole. I then took a bolt and welded it to the nut. Free tool made.

I'll pull the front wheel tomorrow and start on the swingarm.

I'm not quite sure if I want to keep polishing the frame or just paint it. This swingarm is pretty beat up with fairly sizable scratches (read: deep).

If I painted it, I could do some body work. I don't have a TIG, so I can't really do any "body work" on the bare aluminum. I'll sleep on it and decide later.

Is that a dent on that polished swingarm in the picture?

If you're talking about the first picture, there's a number of small dents, but I think I can sand them out. The deeper issues are on the inside and one on the top near the inside. I wouldn't feel comfortable sanding those out without compromising the integrity a bit. I'd rather fill them with a weld, but I'm not sure I want to.

Yeah, aluminum is funny stuff. I'd probably start with a new swinger in that case... Dents and cracks in that thin stuff are not good. Then again, you're not tracking this thing, so it'd probably be alright

It's been a bit, but two kids in hockey = very little time to work on things. I hope to check the cylinders this weekend and order my bearings and rings.

In the meantime, I did a little more work to the swingarm.

The difference is instead of using my car polish I used two grades of jewelers rouge. I'm fairly content with how it turned out. I got rid of the small dents, but there's nothing more I can do with the deeper scratches. So, this is finished for now. Next is the frame.

Not much to update. I started the painful process of polishing the frame.

I want to ensure I'm reading the manual right. All of my rods have C2 stamped into them. When I look at the manual it says to cross-reference the crankpin and rod codes to determine the replacement bearing color. It then says:

Bearing Thickness:
A (Blue) Thick
B (Black)
C (Brown)
D (Green)
E (Yellow) Thin

I'm not sure why they have that in the manual, because it confuses the issue. Below that is the cross reference table.

In my simple mind, using the stamped numbers in my rods, I believe I should have Black bearings. Am I reading the table correctly?
