Default Idle/ throttle off issue

I've had my rrs for over 15 years and apart from having to replace the r/r she's been totally reliable. Maintained, never misses a beat and still sounds sweet.
Yesterday whilst approaching a roundabout, (do you even have these in the US ?) (I might of been coming in a little hot ! )I had to stop quickly and my bike stalled. Mmm....that might of had to of been hurried but didn't deserve a stall I thought. Kept her rolling, started on the button and off I went.
During my ride the stops at lights had me looking down at my rpm at idle. I know my bike and something was not quite right. She seemed to ride as usual but my idle rpm (1100) seemed weak. It felt and hinted like it was going to die on me. It was there, but not strong if you understand. She always pulled away cleanly but I believe there's an early hint of an issue about to begin.
No faults previously, not played with settings and consumables changed over the winter.
By the time I got home last night (another ear hole full from her indoors for being out "all day" ) it was too late to investigate and like to hear if anyone's got any thoughts on this.

Are you sure she's charging properly? (The bike that is, not the Missus ).

That would be my first thought, then maybe the carbs, if the pick-up is a bit jerky.

Been a while since I posted my issue and should of posted my fix really but seeing as I didn't have a response I kinda just let it go, sorry.
After usual general checks proved good I stood and just looked at the bike, " Ive done something" I thought. And what did I do between no issue and an issue ? Clean it. I like her to be sparkling and don't mind "getting in there" with a rag and spotted my mistake. I'd simply caught the idle adjuster and not noticed. Dumb... I know.
Sometimes it really is that simple

You know Wes, it's surprising how often that method works, well done

Thanks for the update. It's nice to know the fixes as well as the problems. Glad it was so easy.
