Hi Shanman,
Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the forum.
Where are you from, how long have you been on two wheels, what bikes do you have etc.
We also love pictures.

It sound like it is one of the safety switches, probably the side-stand that is playing up which would cause it to cut out when selecting a gear.
I'm sure one of the guys with a blade will chime in, but that circuit is where I would start looking.

Cheers

The Side Stand switch has 2 functions. In the down position, it provides a ground connection for the Side Stand Bulb to make it light up. In the up position, it provides a ground for the ECU to tell it that the Side Stand is up. Need to check to see if the Green/White wire on the Side Stand switch is being provided a ground connection. If not, then Side Stand switch is most likely bad. So, G/W wire should have 12v present when Side Stand is in Down position, and 0v on G/W wire when it's in the Up position. These wire colors are accurate for the 1996-1999 CBR900RR. Not 100% sure on 1993-1995 years.
