High mileage CBR900RR
I've seen this bike here for sale Honda CBR 900 FIREBLADE 1994 | Trade Me
The trouble is that it has around 100,000km on it. I'm a bit put off by the mileage, but it's cheap.

If you like it....... what you waiting for.
Look at it as proven goods. Well run in, just ready for you to enjoy properly.
I spoke to the owner and he said it needs a new tyre which is around $300, and the road tax needs to be paid before it can be legally ridden on the roads so that's another $150 for 3 months. After all that is paid it's coming up to around 3/4 of the price of a CBR900RR with half the mileage.
The owner said it's very tidy and the fairings are good so it doesn't look like it's ever been crashed.

sounds like you are trying to talk your way out of buying the bike. you do need to put tyres on any bike at some stage. you only get what you pay for if the bike lights your candle lol then go for it life is far to short.
I took the bike for a test ride. It was the first time I've ever ridden a bike bigger than a 250cc. I was expecting it to be a big, heavy, scary monster but in fact it was delightfully easy to ride and very light.
It seems to ride quite well, although I did notice that when I was sitting a stop sign or set of traffic lights and gave it a good rev up to around 6,000RPM the bike tended to vibrate a bit. Is this normal? I spoke to the owner and he's happy to take it to a Honda motorbike dealer for a pre purchase inspection at my cost.
I also remember the owner saying to me that the cam chain tensioner is noisy at times, is this an expensive fix? Is it likely to do any damage if it isn't fixed soon?
