Default help with a vacuum line

hey whats good people. i got his hose hanging off the bike and i thought it was the over flow for the gas or something.

well the other day i was looking at it, and it was bothering me that it was just hanging there, so i touched it and noticed it was pulling a vacuum. i put my finger on the end of it, and felt it sucking air. my finger was getting stuck to it, you felt the vacuum. and i noticed that the rpms changed a little when i capped it with my finger.

anyways, i followed the line, and noticed it comes out of the left most carb. after looking around for the place it connects to, i got confused.

i got two spots on the bottom of the tank with no hoses on 'em. then i got i think two spots on the petcock with no hoses on 'em. my gas i currently gravity fed into the carbs. the only line/hose coming off my tank, is the one connected to the petcock for the gas to the carbs. i think it is supposed to connect to one of the spots on the tank itself, but not to sure though.

does anyone have any idea were this vacuum line is supposed to go? is it on the tank or the petcock?

oh yeah my bike is a 95 cbr900rr.

I have a 1998 cbr900 and on mine there is a vacuum that goes from the petcock to #2 cylinder right under the intake boots

Pitcru05 is correct, The later RR's had the vacuum line connected to the back of the petcock and to the cylinder. It's purpose is to turn fuel off when the bike is not running, Look at the back of your petcock and see if their is a small nipple for the line to attach
