Default Having trouble syncing carbs!!!

Boughta carb syncing kit off ebay, seems to be legit, but when i try to use it the gauges all fluctuate. If you rev it up pretty high it will steady out, but that doesnt help me. They flucuate within a "late valve timing or leak at intake manifold or heat riser" labeled red zone between 0 and10 inches vacuum. Anyone knows what could cause this? The bike seems to run fine (other than me f**in up the lifters creating tons of noise). But even after a jet kit without syncin it runs great, couldnt beleive theres an air leak.

Any help is appreciated, im probably gonna go back into the head to double check it for the noise so anything to check while im taking it apart / putting it back together????

Edit: Just to clarify, im following the intrsuctions on syncing it from the specific service manual so im 98% sure im doing everything on my part right

That is an odd situation most of the time carbs go "off sync" at higher rpm because of the greater turbulance do to pressure differentials caused by valves opening and closing...? Have you tried the kit on any other bikes? May be a place to rule out the kit is at fault? If the bike truely doesn't sync id recommend you look at www.flo-commander.com they claim it syncs along with making more usable power and curing the idle to open hiccup.

Hope it helps

they are supposed to flucuate within 1/2 inch of each other after adjusting set screws, if they don't then you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

Usually there is an adjustable valve that go's in-line on each vacuum hose to the gauges.By opening the valves just enough to get a reading, you can stop the gauges from fluctuating. If you have a valve noise, most likely one is way out of adjustment.
