Bench syncing my carbs

Bench syncing my carbs
Lets see, where do I begin: before I hook up my MotionPro Sync Tune Gadget Thingy, is there an easy way to bench sync the carbs before I throw them back on? If I look down into the carb throats, at the base of the throotle plate there are 3 small holes. Right now, the plate is covering all the holes. Is this correct or should it be adjusted to a different position?
Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I've been inhaling some exhaust fumes today.

RE: Bench syncing my carbs
You can perform a fairly good static synch with the carbs off the bike. Adjust the idle screwso the throttle blades just begin to open. Look thru the carbs and check that the width of passing light is equal for all carbs, or use a feeler gauge. Adjust if necessaryby the synch screws so the initial throttle blade opening is the same all carbs.

RE: Bench syncing my carbs
Thansks for the tip. I finally got it running last night and used the carb sync that I have to get everything going. Now I need to:
1) fix a leak on the clutch cover gasket,
2) replace the radiator overflow hose,
3) build a new set screw for the throttle control housing (ground mine off when I put the VFR bars on instead on drilling a hole in the bars),
4) repaint a crash protector (ordered the wrong color)
5) put the whole bike back together (probably the easiest part)
