hello i have some problem with wires


those 3 yellow wires come from stator to reg\rec and when i put + and - wires to reg\rec those 3 yellow wires comes warm and they smoke.

also when all wires are conected to reg\rec the main fuse was burn all the time :/

any suggestion?? maybe problem is grounding ??

 

Hi, first of all is that connector a household electrical connecter, maybe better to solder the wires together and shrink tubing on them, but before that I would do a test on your stator as the short might be inside there, soon find out if you take of the cover, just to be nosey , why was the cable to the rec/reg chopped from the stator

 

If you disconnect one set of your three cables from your terminal block, then test for continuity between the three cables, and likewise with the ones remaining in the block, it should point you in which direction your issue is. There should be no continuity.
I'm guessing but, I bet a r/r has had an issue here before resulting in the genuine connector melting.

 

Yes the old R/R was burned out and 3 connectors was melted.Now i have a new R/R and when all wires are conected to R/R they are smoke and only those 3 yellow wires were hot :/

 

Check to see if your stator is shorted to ground.

There is only 3 yellow wires coming from stator they were burned 1 year ago and i left my bike in garage..and now i just buy connectors and change all of them cuz lot of connectors was coroded,and i dont remember when i was changing the yellow wires maybe there should be + one wire which is for grounding ?

Also i have a question if this reg/rec is dead now i have another one from cbr 929 SC44 but this one have 7 wires whos 2 of them are green 3 yellow and 2 red and i am asking if it fit on 900rr SC28 ?

 

Do you have anything to test cables with ? Pretty sure a simple continuity test will give you a solution to your problem.
I believe the r/r is the more likely culprit but as Demon suggested it could be the stator, a test would prove for certain. From memory, I don't believe any of these cables are a ground. That's exactly what I'd be looking for during the test. No continuity between the cables and none to earth. One of them will be down is my guess. Just remove one of the sets of cables and test. This will allow you to know which direction your issue is. Hope in right about that ?!

I wouldn't use anything but the correct r/r to replace. Those r/r's get v hot v quickly so be careful if you handling.
