yeah...riveting has always been a mystery...but its super simple! Got a rivet gun and rivets for $10. Waiting on my bike to get back! Trying to decide if i want to cut the exhaust. Seems odd that you don't have to do anything else when you cut it, because when you change the exhaust you have to...

Since our bikes are carbureted I can only guess they might need little adjustment.I haven't done mine yet. I will be re-syncing them and making small adjustments after I get it back on its own two wheels.

The times I have taken it out I haven't seen any change in how the bike performs..but mine still needs work keep in mind I got it after it sat for three years.

I talked to my shop about syncing the carbs. They looked at it has as something you do if the bike isnt running well. People on here talk about syncing carbs to squeeze out a little extra performance. Like a small tweek. The guys at the shop talked about it like it was something you'd know you would need done.

How would someone know if my bike needs to be tweeked slightly? Im not concerned about it running right, I want it to be running great.

I dont know if I am conveying well what i mean

I mean adjustment by your jetting not the sync. You know when you need that. My bike runs like garbage between 3500 and 4500 rpms my throttle boggs out and almost kills the bike. It has nothing that I know of to do with performance.

So I will know if I need it done after I cut my pipe then?

its a general things... even with fi bikes they "recommend" you get a power commander bc you added a slip on

just like the "recommend" you rejet after a exhaust....

by but thats going from a stock very restricting pipe to a slip on...

now going to shorten your slip on isnt going to change how the bike runs drastically enough to where you should notice or need a rejet

Yes you will. But if you are having them synced now then you wont need to do it again. It has to do with the vacume pressure with the darn once they are synced you should be good for a while unless you take off your carbs and work on or seperate them. This is from.my understanding from talking with a friend who owns his own shop.

They arent going to sync them unless they hear someting wrong when they fire it up. Thats what I am saying, they are only going to adjust it so that it runs "right" not fine tune the carbs so it runs great.
